The materials for the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts charter school study have been posted on the LWVMA web site. They include information on how charter schools work and how they are funded, as well as the consensus questions to be considered by each local League.
The League of Women Voters develops positions on issues by conducting a study such as this and by having its members convey their opinions on the issues by holding consensus meetings. LWVA will hold a consensus meeting in January.
Until this process is completed, the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts has no position on charter schools. In particular, these materials are not related to the November 8 ballot question on charter schools. These materials are for information only, and do not represent LWVMA’s opinion or stand on any of the issues included.
The Consensus Questions Response form is due back to LWVMA by February 1, 2017.
