Candidate Forum LWV/Climate Action Now

Three area Leagues of Women Voters - Amherst, Franklin County, and Northampton - will join with Climate Action Now to sponsor a numbers of Candidates Forums on climate and energy issues. The Amherst Forum will be held on Sunday, May 20, from 7-9 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Society, 121 North Pleasant St. Candidates for the Amherst area seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives will answer questions from a panel of three, representing the Hampshire Gazette, the Amherst LWV, and Climate Action Now (CAN). Suzanne Patenaude will serve as moderator.

The Northampton Forum will be June 5, 7-9 p.m. at JFK Middle School. The Franklin County Forum will be May 27, 7-9 p.m. at the Frontier Regional School in Deerfield.

The League advocates for a strong response to the threat of climate change using its local energy position (p. 15 of our Program Book as well as the national position on air quality.
