Amherst League of Women Voters

A Voice for Citizens, a Force for Change

Positions

The League of Women Voters studies issues and, when sufficient consensus results, it adopts positions. These positions are traditionally grouped into four program areas:  Representative Government, Natural Resources, Social Policy and (at the national level) International Relations. They form the basis for the League's advocacy in matters of public policy.

National positions

Impact on Issues includes the official LWVUS statements of position for each program area, briefly traces significant past actions and achievements, and indicates links among positions. It is updated following each biennial convention.

State positions

Where We Stand (PDF) contains the positions adopted by LWVMA together with a brief history of League action using them..

Local positions

The 2015 Program Book includes the local positions adopted by the League of Women Voters of Amherst as well as summaries of state and national League positions.
