Two Public Lectures on Our Energy Future

The League of Women Voters of Amherst sponsored two public lectures on the future of energy production and distribution in Massachusetts in November and December. Anne George of ISO New England spoke on November 29, and Professor James Manwell of the UMass Wind Energy Center on December 6. They have provided their slides.

Forum on Ballot Question 2 Planned at UMass

The League of Women Voters is co-sponsoring a panel discussion on the ballot question about raising the cap on Charter Schools. The forum is planned for the evening of October 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room N151 of the new Integrative Learning Center on the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

The materials for the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts charter school study have been posted on the LWVMA web site. They include information on how charter schools work and how they are funded, as well as the consensus questions to be considered by each local League.
