You filled out your own census form. Now help Massachusetts obtain a COMPLETE COUNT by joining a "virtual phonebank", sponsored by the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition. The phone banks are held on Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Thursdays, 5-7 p.m. After you select a date, you will be invited to a Zoom meeting that includes a short training. You will need a phone and computer (desktop, laptop or tablet) in order to participate.
Census operations, like so much else in Massachusetts, have been disrupted by the COVID-19 outbreak. The communities most vulnerable in this public health emergency are also most at risk of being undercounted. These communities include low-wage people of color and immigrant workers, people experiencing homelessness, and non-English speakers. We must ensure that everyone is safe during this public health emergency and that everyone is seen, heard, and counted in the 2020 Census.
The Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition is the largest organization advocating for the rights and integration of immigrants and refugees In Massachusetts. Founded in 1987, it serves more than a million foreign-born people through policy analysis and advocacy, institutional organizing, education and strategic communications.
