The state primary election will be held THURSDAY, September 8. The League of Women Voters of Amherst will hold a candidates forum for positions for which there is more than one candidate on Thursday, August 25, at the Town Hall from 7 to 9 p.m.

The Amherst Charter Commission will hold its first public hearing on Thursday May 12, 2016 in the Amherst Regional Middle School Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

The forum on March 14, 2016, in the auditorium of the Amherst Regional Middle School will begin with a speaker covering the role and options of a town charter commission and continue with an opportunity for the candidates for the proposed Commission to introduce themselves.

A question concerning the establishment of an Amherst Charter Commission will appear on the ballot for the March 29, 2016, Amherst municipal elections. On the same ballot, residents will vote for up to nine candidates to serve on the Commission. Here are some resources to help you prepare.
