Because of the ongoing public health emergency, the League of Women Voters of Amherst will hold its Annual Meeting on line this year, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. The meeting will focus on three essential pieces of LWVA business: election of officers, approval of budget, and approval of changes in the bylaws. The reports of the Nominating and Budget Committees and the proposed Bylaw revisions were e-mailed to members on May 12, 2020.

The 2020 Program Planning meeting on March 3 discussed national program for the upcoming biennium as well as local program for 2020-2021.

LWVA's Centennial Commemoration committee is starting to develop plans for events we can create, co-sponsor, or collaborate on.

Delegates participated in caucuses and plenary sessions, listening to diverse speakers and making connections across the country.

The League of Women Voters of Amherst celebrated the national organization's 99th birthday with a luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Ginger Garden Restaurant. The luncheon was attended by 60 people, and State Rep. Mindy Domb, D-Amherst, was the keynote speaker.

A summary report of the findings of the LWVA Study Committee investigating support systems available to elders in the Amherst Area has been released.
