Competitive Races and School Funding Question on March 28 Ballot

The 2017 municipal elections in Amherst have attracted a bumper crop of candidates. Statements offered by 2017 candidates for town-wide office and town meeting in the upcoming Amherst elections (March 28).

Meet and hear from your candidates in person! Town-wide candidates have been invited to a Candidate Forum on March 16, 7-9 p.m. sponsored by the League of Women Voters. Town meeting candidates are invited to precinct meetings on Saturday, March 18, 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m., arranged by the Town Meeting Coordinating Committee. Both events will be held at the Amherst Regional Middle School.

Also on the ballot will be a referendum concerning the school building project. Amherst residents collected more than 1,400 signatures to put the referendum on the $67.2 million school project on the ballot after the proposal was defeated by Town Meeting.
